(UCL, UK) University College London Adopts Robots from Elephant Robotics to Empower Robotics Education and Research

University College London (UCL), ranked 9th in the QS World University Rankings, is internationally recognized for academics and research excellence. To expand its robotics curriculum and support further research projects, UCL sought compact and high-performance robotic tools.

A robotics and AI professor at UCL noted: “We have already used Raspberry Pi. After discovering Elephant Robotics, we chose the myCobot and myAGV for their strong alignment with our teaching and research needs.” UCL has since procured 50 units of our robot  units and kits, which are now actively used in teaching and competitions.

In 2024, UCL, Queen Mary University of London (QMUL), and King’s College London (KCL) co-hosted the annual Robotics Summer School Hackathon as a part of the Active Group initiative. Participants—mainly postgraduates, researchers, and robotics enthusiasts from UCL, QMUL, KCL, and other international institutions—were challenged to program the educational robots to detect and sort colored cubes, combining computer vision, sensor integration, and robotic manipulation.

Such events give participants practical experiences in automation, motion planning, and problem-solving, while inspiring future careers in robotics and highlighting Elephant Robotics' strong potential in robotics education and research in the UK.
