Women in Tech: Celebrating Robotics Innovation and Inclusion at Elephant Robotics

On International Women's Day (8 March), that is the bold call for action for all women and girls worldwide. IWD is celebrated to focus attention on women's contributions to society and their right to equality, suffrage, reproductive rights, and freedom from violence and abuse. Originating from labor movements in Europe and North America around 1909, this day is not only a celebration of women's achievements but also a crucial opportunity to promote diversity and inclusion in all fields.
With the rapid advancement of technology, women are continually breaking boundaries and becoming drivers of innovation. When it comes to “women in technology,” many company focus their attention and energy on attracting more women candidates for their open roles. It’s no secret that women are underrepresented in the world of IT. At Elephant Robotics, many female employees have made outstanding contributions to shaping intelligent robotics.
As societies age, mental health challenges such as loneliness and depression are increasingly prevalent. Elderly individuals, single adults, and those with cognitive disorders often seek companionship and emotional support. While pets have traditionally provided comfort, caring for live animals can pose challenges due to physical, financial, or time constraints. Bionic companion robot pets are emerging as a viable solution to this market gap. In recent years, the global demand for these innovative robots has surged, reflecting users' need for companionship without the responsibilities of traditional pet care. Elephant Robotics prioritizes user experience and recognizes the importance of female talent in technology, believing that female engineers can introduce fresh perspectives and drive innovation in robotics development. Our 3 female engineers have shared their own experiences of meeting global user needs, addressing societal challenges, and creating innovative robotics solutions that resonate with users.
The Product Engineer for the bionic companion robot pets in the metaAnimal series, Rachel Lu, states, “We have observed a growing emphasis on users' emotional needs. By understanding the healing and comforting aspects from a female perspective, I carefully design the appearance of our robotic pets and select high-quality fur materials, making them more appealing to the elderly and children. My familiarity with pets also allows me to refine the voice feedback function, enhancing interactivity and emotional connection.”
“I was initially concerned about potential robot collisions. However, testing our 6 DOF collaborative robot arms, the myCobot series, allowed me to assess the feasibility of my algorithm solutions quickly, ensuring both safety and efficiency before implementation in industrial cobots,” adds Mary Huang, our Technical Operations Engineer.
Our After-sales Engineer Malanie Huang emphasizes, “At Elephant Robotics, we prioritize customer needs. We believe that understanding user needs is integral to product management, and collecting feedback is essential for our products. As a support technician, I strive to demonstrate care and emotional insight in my service. I also consistently capture customer insights to propose suggestions for robotic product improvements. We are committed to enhance users' recognition and affection for our brand.”
Since the establishment in 2016, Elephant Robotics is fueled by a steadfast commitment to its vision, “Enjoy Robots World.” As staunch advocates for bringing robots into everyone’s life, we devoted to providing everyone with the opportunity to experience the convenience and benefits that robots bring in the real world. We offer a diverse range of robotic products, including educational collaborative robots, professional robots, the Mercury humanoid robot, and bionic companion robotic pets.
Elephant Robotics is committed to lowering financial barriers, offering a range of cost-effective collaborative options that make personal desktop robot assistants accessible to users worldwide. These intelligent robot assistants are known for their versatility, high openness, and ease of use, making them ideal for creative projects, daily tasks, and production applications. By developing user-friendly tools like the graphical programming platform myBlockly, we simplify entry into robotics. Thus, individuals of all ages, genders, and skill levels can get easier access to advanced programming and control logic of robots. Users can effortlessly create personalized designs using visual software that generates text and image trajectories. With tools like the Drawing Kit and Laser Engraving Kit for the palletizing stepper robot arm ultraArm P340, these designs are automatically rendered, seamlessly combining advanced robotics technology with engaging DIY projects.

Beyond functional cobots, we also offers soft and cuddly bionic companion robot pets, designed to be the most heartwarming intelligent companions. The metaAnimal series, available in cat, dog, and panda shapes, closely mimics the appearance, texture, sounds, and behaviors of real animals, fulfilling people’s need for companionship and emotional comfort. For vulnerable groups, including children, seniors, and individuals with disabilities, autism, or Alzheimer's disease, these robot companions offer the emotional benefits of traditional pets without the associated responsibilities. By providing companionship, the metaAnimal pets help reduce loneliness and isolation, alleviate anxiety and stress, and improve overall mood and well-being.
On this International Women’s Day, Elephant Robotics celebrates the achievements of women in robotics and calls for greater diversity and inclusion in the robotics industry. As we continue to innovate, we remains committed to enhancing emotional well-being, addressing societal needs, and shaping a future where robots play an integral role in improving lives.
