(Fujian, CN) Fujian Polytechnic of Information Technology Elevates Vocational AI Education by Embedding Robotics Using ER's Robots with AI Kits

The Artificial Intelligence Terminal Application Training Center at the School of Internet of Things and Artificial Intelligence, Fujian Polytechnic of Information Technology (FJPIT), cultivates future AI professionals with practical skills and real-world experience.

 

While planning a Raspberry Pi–based development course and a fully equipped robotics training lab, the school discovered that using Raspberry Pi alone did not provide interactivity and did not clearly demonstrate real-world applications. To enhance visualization, engagement, and practical depth, the school sought cobots that seamlessly integrate with Raspberry Pi, providing a tangible platform for student projects, strengthening hands-on learning, and encouraging greater participation. They also sought innovative robotics solutions with strong visual and technological appeal to effectively showcase the lab’s technical capabilities during inspections by higher-level education authorities.

 

After evaluation, the school selected 25 units of myCobot with AI Kits for their compact design, open-source ecosystem, affordability, and extensive support for further development. Teachers can leverage these kits to design accessible, modular, and intuitive course materials tailored to AI and embedded systems.

 

In class, two students share each kit, collaborating across the full project pipeline—from algorithm design to task execution. Using ER's educational robots, students complete real-world automation tasks, gaining experience in AI programming, sensor integration, and hardware-software collaboration. This hands-on approach builds technical skills while fostering critical thinking, problem-solving, and teamwork, making robotics education interactive, practical, and future-focused.
