Hackthon Training for Industrial Automation: Empowering Korea’s Future Innovators with ER's Robots

Our Korea-based partner, a leading international hardware accelerator, plays a key role in South Korea's maker and startup ecosystem. In line with the 2024 national policy promoting robotics education and supported by the Suwon City government, the organization hosted the “Hackathon Training for Building Automation Experience using Cobot and AGV.”
We have a Korea-based partner, a leading international hardware accelerator that plays a pivotal role in South Korea’s maker and startup ecosystem. Aligned with the 2024 national policy promoting robotics education and supported by the government, the organization hosted the “Hackathon Training for Building Automation Experience using Cobot and AGV.”
The four-day event combined two days of hands-on training with two days of competition, attracting 40 university students and startup teams guided by two instructors. Participants, including students in robotics, AI, and computer science, as well as developers from incubators and maker communities, worked to strengthen their skills in automation, vision AI, and robotic integration. Five awards and certificates were presented, emphasizing industry-academic collaboration.
The participants used our myCobot Pro and myAGV to develop automation projects in simulated industrial environments. The robot vehicles utilized OpenCV for real-time navigation, while the robotic arms integrated YOLOv8 for vision-based object detection and grasping tasks.
Our robots were selected for their open-source compatibility, intuitive interface, and support for both graphical and code-based programming, making them accessible to all skill levels. We also provided pre-event technical guidance, hardware setup, and on-site troubleshooting, ensuring a smooth and successful hackathon.
