Good hardware with significant problems in the firmware/software which are pending resolution

The hardware is good (4-5 stars) but it has problems with the firmware/ software (2 stars). I initially purchased the mycobot 280 M5 on Amazon which worked flawlessly (5 stars), after which I ordered the mycobot 320 M5 from China. I’m in email contact with your customer service and will update my review after I get a response from them. I will defer submitting a full review at this time, as it would not be fair to Elephant Robotics.

This product arrived in a timely fashion and was very well packaged. I have been learning a lot, all the manuals and videos are online and/or available at YouTube. I would recommend this product, especially for someone like me who is new to the robotics. Everything was well done and thought out.

Q4: I don’t know how to develop a robot arm. Is there a graphical interface for operations?

For non-technical players, myCobot supports the drag teaching function. Instead of complex programming, you can use our drag-and-drop teaching function. Simply move the robot arm to the desired positions and it will record the movements. You can save up to 60 minutes of movements and switch between them easily.

Q6: Does it support secondary development of functions?

Absolutely! myCobot is designed for customization. Here are two ways to make it work for you:

Use our coding tools (API): We provide APIs in Python, C++, C#, and Javascript. These allow you to control your myCobot directly or remotely, giving you more flexibility over how you use it.

Deep dive into the code (ROS): If you're comfortable with coding, you can access and modify the Robot Operating System (ROS) code directly. ROS is open-source, which means you have a lot of control over how the robot arm functions.

Q7: How about the repeated positioning accuracy?

The repeated positioning accuracy of myCobot 280 is ±0.5mm, and the repeated positioning accuracy of myCobot 320 is ±0.3mm. The repeat positioning accuracy of the two manipulators is determined based on the length of use.

The positioning of the two products is not the same. The ER 280 robotic arm is a consumer type and is mostly used in the education field. It is recommended to use 1-2 hours to rest for 15-30 minutes. The repeat positioning accuracy can reach ±0.2mm in a short time.The ER 320 is suitable for commercial work within 12 hours, with a repeat positioning accuracy of ±0.3mm. If used in a short time, the repeat positioning accuracy can also reach ±0.2mm.

Q8: Is there a camera on the robotic arm? And is there a visual recognition sorting function?

The robotic arm does not have a camera. But we have machine vision-related kits now available for vision development.
